The Funding
What makes us unique
We are a small voluntary organization. We are a small nonprofit organization. We bear the costs of running the organization ourselves, with the exception of small transfer fees, therefore we guarantee that the donations are used for their initial purpose in Kenya. The travel and living costs from the volunteers are financed privately and not covered by the organization.
We are grateful for the help we receive from the people around us, who support us voluntarily and free of charge with their expertise. We did not have to pay anything for the creation of the logo, nor for the homepage including its regular maintenance, the design of leaflets and posters, professional photos and videos as well as the support in areas of financing, controlling and marketing.
The monthly fixed costs consist of the salaries from the Kenyan team, their pension and health insurance, the property rent, water, electricity, internet and firewood for food.
The non-perishable food, such as rice and beans, is purchased per term (three times a year) and the vegetables are bought fresh at the market every day.
School uniforms and teaching materials are purchased as required. Additionally, a local doctor comes once per term (three times a year)and examines all the students. In particular, worming treatments are carried out here.
When we are not in Kenya ourselves, we transfer the required funds to the account of our project manager in Kenya. He is responsible for implementing the donations and then sends us the receipts for every expenditure.
