Concept of Sponsorship of a Child

With the sponsorship of a child you contribute a big part in the continuation of our project, by covering the costs of a student.

A sponsorship costs 25€ per month.*

Your sponsored child will receive:

• education
• safety to learn constantly
• qualified teachers
• stimulating learning environment
• teaching materials
• access to fresh drinking water
• regular nutrition (porridge in the morning and a hot meal for lunch)
• medical examination (once per term – three times a year)
• hygiene facilities (access to water, toothbrush and toothpaste)

We hope that your sponsorship will be long term!

Your sponsorship with Help for Hope e.V. will cover the whole period in which your sponsored child is attending Hope Menorah Primary School. This is a maximum of nine years – three years of kindergarten and six years of primary school. After a maximum of nine years or in case of a change of school (secondary school or relocation) the sponsorship can be transferred to another child or canceled. Your sponsorship can be quit by the end of a calendar year.

Every child has the same right to education and food. For ethical reasons, we have decided to make the pairing of sponsor and child ourselves, in order to avoid the choosing of the “cutest” child.

If a child were to find out that he/she has a permanent sponsor and others not, jealousy and feelings of injustice would form.
Therefore we have decided to communicate the sponsorships by name at Hope Menorah Primary School only in one direction, from Kenya to Germany. You are assigned a specific child. We will then only communicate a certain number of “class sponsors” to the students.

Updates from Kenia

Per term (three times a year) you will receive an update of your sponsor child’s class. The class teacher will write an information text during the vacations for the previous term, which we will then provide to you together with small group photos.
